It was Friday, I knew that the day was going to be full of surprises. It was the last day for Samoan language week and the last day for Miss Haslem. The day was going to be very very exciting. Mr T woke up very early to set up the things for the Umu. It needed things
like sticks, banana leaves, and volcanic rocks. My first thoughts of the umu when I saw it, it looks really cool because I have never seen one in my entire life! After I saw the umu, we went to room 6’s assembly, and we sang a Samoan song. When it finished, we got to check the umu out again. I tried the coco Samoa and it was very tasty. The smoke coming out from the umu was probably from the things like volcanic rocks which were very hot and the were banana leaves on top of the food. After a while we headed back to class. When the bell rang for morning tea I ran straight to the umu. I saw a lot of smoke coming out of the Umu. It smelt like smoked fish. Then everyone started to come out to the Umu and tried the coconut. Mr T cut out the white pieces off the coconut for the students to eat.
When the bell rang for us to go back to class me, John, Jenesys, Deakin and Aden went to set up the hall for everyone to sit while they ate. We set up about 60 chairs for everyone to sit while they eat the delicious food that the parents cooked and also from the umu. When the bell rang for us to eat the food, we sang the Samoan national anthem. We also raised the Samoan flag while singing. Meanwhile we were getting ready to eat.
Father Benedict the priest visited to grab some of the Samoan food. He said a prayer. When he finished I went to the long line. The food that I ate was Chop suey, taro, elegi (Fish), Oka (Raw Fish, coconut cream and some vegetables), crab salad and a pork bun. When we finished eating, me and the parent helpers were cleaning up. At the end we said a farewell to Miss Haslem, it was emotinal. Some people were crying because she was leaving. When she left we ate up all our lollies from Miss Haslem. It was also the end of Samoan language week. We all had a great time.

Goldilocks and Three Bears Retelling in English.
Once upon a time there were three bears. They would always have porridge for breakfast. One day the porridge was too hot. So they went for a walk. Then this little girl called Goldilocks was walking too. When she saw the cottage’s window open, she looked and smelt yummy porridge. That will fill her hungry tummy, she thought. When she climbed through the window she tasted Daddy bear’s porridge. “Yuck!” she said. It's too salty. Next she tried Mummy bear’s porridge. “Yuck!” she said. “It’s way too sweet.” Lastly she tried Baby bear’s porridge. “Mmm, just right!” Goldilocks went to sit on a chair. When she sat on Daddy bear’s chair she jumped straight off. When she sat on Mummy bear’s chair she got stuck in the chair. Lastly she tried to sit on the Baby bear’s chair but it CRACKED. She wanted to know what was upstairs. So up the stairs she went. She saw three beds. Goldilocks tried to sleep on Daddy bear’s bed but it was too high. Next she tried Mummy bear’s bed but it was too low. Lastly when she laid on the Baby bear's bed she fell straight asleep. The three bears came back inside the cottage and realised that their porridge had been eaten. “Who has eaten my porridge?” growled Daddy bear. “Who has eaten porridge?” said Mummy bear. “Who has been eating my porridge until the very last drop?” cried the Baby bear. The three bears found out that someone had been sitting in their chairs. “Who has been sitting on my chair?” growled Daddy bear. “Who has been sitting in my chair?” said Mummy bear. “Who has been sleeping on my chair and has broken it into pieces?” The three bears went upstairs and found out that someone had been sleeping in their beds. “Who has been sleeping on my bed?” growled Daddy bear. “Who has been sleeping on my bed?” said Mummy bear. “There is still someone sleeping on my bed,” cried Baby bear. Goldilocks woke up in freight. “AHHHHHH!” she screamed. She jumped out of the bed and ran outside. “I am never going for a walk in the forest again!” said Goldilocks.
